How Are Depop Seller Fees Calculated in 2026?
If you are calculating your margins, you might be wondering where the classic 10% selling fee went. As of recent policy changes, Depop has officially eliminated its 10% selling fee for users in the US and UK. This means you keep significantly more of your sales compared to previous years.
However, selling is not completely free. You are still responsible for Payment Processing Fees. Depop Payments typically charge a standard processing rate (e.g., 3.3% + $0.45 in the US) on the entire transaction amount.
Why Does Buyer Sales Tax Matter?
One of the most common mistakes resellers make is forgetting about sales tax when calculating margins. Even though Depop collects and remits sales tax automatically, the payment processing fee is calculated based on the gross total of the transaction. This gross total includes your item price, shipping costs, and the buyer's local sales tax.
Because you don't know exactly where the buyer lives until the item sells, our calculator uses an average estimated tax rate (7.5% is standard for the US) to give you the most accurate prediction of your final payment processing deduction.
The 8% Boosted Listing Fee
If you choose to boost your item for more visibility, Depop will take an additional 8% fee if the item sells via a boosted tile. Just like payment processing, this 8% is taken from the total transaction value (Item + Shipping + Tax). Use the toggle in our calculator above to instantly see how boosting impacts your take-home cash.
