How Much Does Grailed Take From a Sale?
If you are selling designer clothing or streetwear, knowing your margins is critical. The most common question new users ask is: how much does Grailed take from a standard transaction?
As of the May 2026 update, Grailed fees are divided into two distinct commission tiers depending on your item's final price. Buying is completely free, but sellers are responsible for the following:
- Standard Tier ($120 and above): Grailed takes a 9% commission on the sale.
- Reduced Tier (Under $120): Grailed takes a 6% commission on the sale, subject to a $1.99 minimum.
Understanding the Total Grailed Seller Fee
It's important to know that the base Grailed seller fee is not the only deduction from your payout. Grailed's commission is separate from payment processing. When your buyer pays via a credit card through Stripe, standard processing fees (typically around 3.49% + $0.49 in the US) will also apply to the total transaction.
Because payment processing applies to the gross transaction—which includes local sales tax paid by the buyer—figuring out your exact payout can get complicated. That is exactly why we built this Grailed fee calculator to do the math for you.
Do Grailed Selling Fees Include Shipping?
Yes, but with a major exception. By default, Grailed selling fees are calculated based on the "Sale Price," which Grailed defines as the listing price plus any shipping costs charged to the buyer.
However, if you choose to ship using a Grailed Label, the shipping cost is completely exempted from the commission calculation. When using our Grailed calculator above, simply toggle the "Using a Grailed Label?" switch to see how much money you can save on fees by using their official shipping integration.
What happens to PayPal and Stripe fees if you don't onboard with Stripe?
If you are located in a Stripe-supported country but choose not to complete Stripe onboarding, two things happen.
- You lose access to Stripe's payment options, meaning buyers will not be able to pay you directly via credit card or Apple Pay, leaving PayPal as their only checkout option.
- Grailed penalizes you with higher payment processing fees on those PayPal transactions: 3.49% + $0.99 USD for US domestic sales and 5.49% + $0.99 USD for international sales.
Note: If your business is located in a region where Stripe is completely unsupported by Grailed, you aren't penalized. Your processing fees automatically default to 4.99% + $0.49 USD.
